The Fallacy Of Evolution (Part 2)

by Micky Galloway

The Bible repeatedly claims that God created all things: Psalms 33:6, “By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth”; Hebrews 11:3, “By faith we understand that the worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which appear” (cf. Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:11; John 1:3; Acts 17:24; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11, etc.). The Bible also claims that God presently governs or sustains all things (Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3; Acts 17:28; II Peter 3:7).

However, the evolutionist claims his position is PROVEN by science. Notice the quotes following. “… Science affirms that the human species is an emergence from natural evolutionary forces. As far as we know, the total personality is a function of the biological organism transacting in a social and cultural context” (Kurtz, Paul, Humanist Manifestos I and II, Buffalo: Prometheus Books, 1973, page 17). “Evolution is as well-established a scientific notion as gravity” (Eldredge, Niles, The Monkey Business, New York: Pocket Books, 1982, page 23). “Evolutionists have been clear about this distinction between fact and theory from the very beginning, if only because we have always acknowledged how far we are from completely understanding the mechanisms (theory) by which evolution (fact) occurred” (Gould, Stephen Jay, Hen’s Teeth and Horses’ Toes, New York: Norton, 1983, page 255).

The American Humanist Association, in the January/February 1977 issue of its official propaganda, The Humanist, issued “A Statement Affirming Evolution As A Principle of Science.” The single-page document stated, in part, “For many years it has been well established scientifically that all known forms of life, including human beings, have developed by a lengthy process of evolution … There are no alternative theories to … evolution … that any competent biologists of today takes seriously … Evolution is the only presently known strictly scientific and nonreligious explanation for the existence and diversity of living organisms.”

In November 1981, the governing board of the American Geological Institute issued a statement on organic evolution. “Scientific evidence indicates beyond any doubt that life has existed on earth for billions of years. This life has evolved through time producing vast numbers of species of plants and animals, most of which are extinct. Although scientists debate the mechanism that produced this change, the evidence for the change is undeniable. Therefore, in the teaching of science we oppose any position that ignores this scientific reality or that gives equal time to interpretations based on religious beliefs only” (American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Explorer, January, 1982).

In the October 1980 issue of Discover Magazine, page 35, Ben Bova asserted, “Evolution … is the cornerstone of the biological sciences. No serious scientists dispute this … So far not one shred of evidence has ever been found to support the Creationist view …

What bold assertions claimed as fact. These claims are indeed disputed by credible scientists. Dr. G.A. Kerkut, Professor of Physiology and Biochemistry at the University of Southampton, England, himself an evolutionist, states, “This theory … can be called the General Theory of Evolution and the evidence that supports it is not sufficiently strong to allow us to consider it as anything more than a working hypothesis … the answer (to the problem of evolution) will be found by future experimental work and not by dogmatic assertions that the General Theory of Evolution must be correct because there is nothing else that will satisfactorily take its place” (The Implications of Evolution, Pergamon Press, London, 1960, page 157). John T. Bonner, an evolutionist, reviewing Dr. Kerkut’s book, wrote, “This is a book with a disturbing message; it points to some unseemly cracks in the foundation. One is disturbed because what is said gives us the uneasy feeling that we knew it for a long time deep down, but were never willing to admit this even to ourselves. It is another one of those cold uncompromising situations where the naked truth and human nature travel in different directions. The particular truth is simply that we have no reliable evidence as to the evolutionary sequence of invertebrate phyla. We do not know whether Protozoa occurred once, or twice, or many times … We have all been telling our students for years not to accept any statement on its face value, but to examine the evidence, and therefore, it is rather a shock to discover that we have failed to follow our own sound advice” (“Review of Kerkut’s book,” American Scientists, Volume 49, June 1961, page 240). Michael Denton, “One might have expected that a theory of such cardinal importance, a theory that literally changed the world, would have been something more than metaphysics, something more than a myth” (Denton, Michael, Evolution: A Theory in Crises, Bethesda: Adler and Adler, 1986, page 358). Jeremy Rifkin said, “Here is a body of thought, incapable of being scientifically tested, claiming to be scientific in nature. It can’t be observed, it can’t be reproduced, it can’t be tested, and yet its proponents demand that it be regarded as the supreme, unimpeachable truth regarding the origin and development of life! One might think that any self-regarding scientist would want to know where the proof is” (Rifkin, Jeremy, Algeny, New York: Penguin Books, 1984, page 118).

These quotations make it clear that not all scientists agree with the general theory of evolution. In this material there is a clear refutation of what the evolution scholars say. What foolishness it is to affirm, “For many years it has been well established scientifically that all known forms of life, including human beings, have developed by a lengthy process of evolution” Indeed, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God” (Psalms 14:1).

In our next study we will examine how these bold claims are disputed by credible established laws of science.
